Christmas, Guitars, and NI DAQ

We here at National Instruments like to use our stuff for some really serious pieces of Engineering that make the world a better place. At other times, we like to simply make something that is cool with no regard for seriousness or changing the world. Todays video shows one of those. Kyle Bryson is an engineer working at NI that has, for the past few years, used various pieces of NI hardware and software to create a flashy and musical Christmas experience at his cubicle. This year, he decided to use an open source video game called Frets on Fire (similar to Guitar Hero and written in Python) and synchronize elements of it with the Christmas lights all around his cube using NI DAQ and Compact DAQ chassis. The result is both stunning and fun but not particularly world changing which is just fine with us.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the VI Road Show!

Hey could anyone let me know what the song that plays at the beggining (the first shots of him playing the guitar) and end of the video?

The song is a royalty free song we just used for background music but I am not sure which one it was.
